Chris Hastings who joins the Financial Services Practice in London from Eversheds Sutherland, is a finance lawyer focused on leveraged and acquisition financing, working in particular with private equity and their portfolio companies as well as corporate borrowers. Among recent work, he has acted for Inflexion on its acquisition of a minority stake in the Goat agency, a leading influencer and social media marketing agency, and subsequently supported on Inflexion’s sale of Goat to WPP; acted for Aurelius on its carve-out of UK property services provider TM Group from Dye & Durham; and for Pollen Street Capital on the acquisition of Assessio, a leading talent assessment software platform in the Nordics.
Georgie Messent joins the Environmental, Safety and Health Practice Group in London from PwC where she was Director and Head of Environmental and Sustainability. Georgie is an environmental and sustainability lawyer, with 25 years of experience advising clients across a range of sectors on environmental regulatory issues, including chemical and carbon regulation, as well as corporate and property transactions.
Ellie Pinnells, who joins the firm from Fieldfisher to lead Birmingham Litigation team, is an experienced commercial litigator, leading cross-border teams on high-value and complex international cases, with particular specialisms in group litigation and competition litigation. Educated in Germany, Ellie is bilingual and led the German desk at her previous firm. Her client base is in the manufacturing, engineering and construction sectors, and includes many companies domiciled or operating in Germany.
David Nisbet joins the Tax Strategy & Benefits practice in London from Osborne Clark. (His appointment was originally announced in January 2024). David specialises in tax and structuring in the funds and private equity sector, advising multinational corporations, funds, financial sponsors, family offices, senior management teams and ultra-high net worth individuals on the tax implications of UK and cross-border investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, fund formations, reorganisations and financing transactions.
